It’s a brand-new month and that means a brand-new update on A.R. Dragonfly! I have to say that nothing has changed since the last update. I’m still about 50% done with Vol. 4 and artwork has, once again, slowed down with my artist as I’m still waiting on the final version of Takumi.
That doesn’t mean I haven’t been productive. At this point, I’m well ahead of where I should be so I’m taking this opportunity to be more proactive in the original English light novel community. In fact, one of the things I’m doing is going to affect A.R. Dragonfly Vol. 3 so I am still indirectly working on the next volume.
What does that mean?
I’ve joined a Facebook group and a Discord server, both of which were founded by Carrie Mills, author of Beyond the Dome: A Blue-Collar Hero and her upcoming title My Mom’s the New Wannabe King? I came up with an idea to help bring more awareness to the original English light novel community. That idea is to round up a group of authors and play a game of story tag. One of us starts off writing then we tag another author and they continue the story. This continues until we reach a point where we feel we can end the story.
The catch is that once the story is finished, we agree to publish it as a bonus chapter in our next upcoming book. It will credit all of the authors involved as well as tell readers where they can find these authors on social media as well as where they can find their books.
The thought is “well, if someone reads my book, maybe they don’t know that there are others like me out there doing what I’m doing.” The goal is to generate interest and awareness that original English light novels are a thing and there is a community out there that is producing this content for people to read and enjoy.
This means that Vol. 3 of A.R. Dragonfly will have two bonus chapters in it!
That’s what I’ve been doing for the past two weeks since the last update. Speaking of the last update, I, not-so-cleverly announced that there would be a giveaway!

I do have a vacation from work coming up the first week of April. I look to use that time to, not only, finish the first draft of Vol. 4, but finish all of the bonus content for Vol. 3 AND map out Vol. 5. Needless to say, that’s going to be a very busy week for me but one that I am really looking forward to!
