September Progress Update

light novel

Welcome one and all to another progress update! I have a couple of things to touch upon this month so without further adieux, let’s jump into it, shall we?

From Ashe Vol. 11 + Sale

As previously mentioned here on the site, From Ashe Vol. 11 launches on Monday, September 9! That means we are just a few days away from the time of this posting for the newest installment of the From Ashe series going live! Right now, you can pre-order the ebook version on Google Play as well as Amazon Kindle.

Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DF6CD4V2

In addition, to help people get caught up, Vols. 1-10 is available at 50% off on Google Play, Rakuten Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks, and Smashwords until Sunday, September 8! If you haven’t started the series yet or need to get caught up, now is a great time to do so!

Original Final Hope Physical Copies

When I started as an author nearly seven years ago, I signed a 6-month sponsorship contract with Vic’s Lab, the first OELN publishing company in the United States. The owner was supplied with some copies that were brought to conventions and it turns out that he has three copies left; however, he doesn’t have immediate plans to run any conventions.

He has them available for sale on the Vic’s Lab website and while Final Hope has been revised as a free-to-read web novel on Royal Road, collectors may be interested in grabbing the original physical version of the book!

Update on New Project

So, for the past few updates, I teased something new happening while saying that it looked as if August would reveal those details. Unfortunately, there has been a delay and it’s looking like October will be when I’ll be able to talk about it. It is a bit disappointing that I can’t reveal it just yet but it should be a good thing whenever it finally launches so stay tuned for a little while longer!

From Ashe Vol. 12 and Beyond

The rough outline for From Ashe Vol. 12 is done… I just need to flesh it out and begin writing. While I cannot promise anything, I am aiming for a December release to put a nice capstone on the year. After that, I do have some plans for 2025. The first would be to work on From Ashe Vol. 13 which will be the last volume in the second major story arc. Volume 14 will begin the third major story arc; however, much like I did when the first story arc concluded, I plan to take a small break from working on From Ashe to re-write and revise My Regularly Scheduled Life.

Putting a brief pause on From Ashe makes sense once the arc concludes because it will give people a chance to catch up and it will allow me to get My Regularly Scheduled Life into a better place. This way I can get this book out the door and into the world. As for the original version, that will remain as a free download here on the website since the new version will be vastly different. While it won’t be an entirely new story, the main concept will remain the same but the way it unfolds will be completely reworked. It will still be about a boy finding the ability to place his trust in others after that trust had been betrayed and finding love in the process but the risks and gambles I took to tell that journey fell flat. I recognized that there are better, simpler ways to achieve that goal and I will be working towards that next year.

Barring any external issues, I do plan to maintain my same release cadence in 2025 by releasing four books… one every three months; however, next year it looks to be Vols 13, 14, and 15 of From Ashe, and the standalone My Regularly Scheduled Life.

Also, I plan to use a different artist for MRSL. This is not a slight against Alex but there is a certain style that I want to go with for this book and I want to find someone who specializes in that style. Because of the search for an artist and not knowing what their speed and process will be like, I will not commit to a release order. MRSL could come at any point during 2025 but regardless of where it falls, it shouldn’t disrupt From Ashe’s releases outside of the break I take to focus on reworking MRSL.

Until Next Time

That’s going to wrap up this month’s update! I hope you’re looking forward to From Ashe Vol. 11 and all of the great and exciting things to come in the future!

Until next time,

Ja ne!
