January Progress Update

light novel

Welcome to a brand-new year! In the last progress update, I mentioned that I was taking the remainder of 2023 off so that I can hit the ground running in 2024. Well… my workaholic self ALMOST made it to 2024 without doing something. It was a valiant effort but I did make some progress

From Ashe Vol. 9

Editing has begun on this book. As of the time of this writing, the first two chapters have made it to second draft and have been ran through both Grammarly and Google Docs spell check. Any and all major edits are done with them. That leaves five chapters left to edit and the bonus chapter that still needs to be written. I think I’ve finally settled on the many ideas I had floating around for this volume’s bonus chapter. It’s just a matter of getting it down on paper.

In addition to that, Volumes 10 has been fully outlined while volumes 11 and 12 have been loosely mapped. This means that I have the endings to 11 and 12 in mind and it’s just a matter of filling in the blanks. All of this is leading up to the 13th volume which will be the end of an era in From Ashe but it won’t be the end of the second major story arc but rather an event that brings us into the end of that arc and the beginning of the third arc. I wish I could play the role of spoiler and tell you what I have in mind; however, I just can’t do that. I will say that this event was something that had been planned from the very beginning of the series and has been on my “grand roadmap” of things I wanted to cover. I just feel that this is the perfect time to head in that direction.

So a bit of editing, a bit of planning. I did manage to do some things in December, after all!

MyGF Enters a Contest

As if entering Final Hope and My Regularly Scheduled Life into two different contests was enough, I also entered My Girlfriend Was Delivered by 2-Day Shipping into a contest held by Reader Views, a book review blog. This contest was point out to me and I just squeaked in near the deadline. This means that 2024 will see the results of three separate contests with three separate stories.

Oof.

Talk about pressure in the new year!

Holiday Sale

The holiday sale is over and this has been my most successful sale yet. I won’t give out exact numbers or revenue earned but I did exceed 100 sales during the 2 1/2-week period.

I just wanted to drop a quick line to thank everyone who picked up a book! I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave a review if you’re one of the ones who bought one! If you don’t want to leave a review but enjoyed the book, simply recommend it to a friend who might like the story. Word of mouth helps me out, too!

Until Next Time

I warned you all last month that this would be a rather short update due to the failed attempt at taking the rest of the year off; however, I am back at it and I plan on getting From Ashe Vol. 9 edited to the point where I can make the commission sheet by the first weekend of January. That means, based on Alex’s availability, artwork should begin very soon. Depending on his speed, I HOPE to have Vol. 9 out by end of the month or early February. We’ll see. I already have the cover in mind and it’s going to feature Cora, marking the second-only time in the series where neither Ashe nor Renji graced the cover.

I also tried working on more shirt designs for the store but… I didn’t like anything I did so I scrapped them. I tried, though. I’ll probably pick at this more in between books.

But that’s about it so the next time I reach out should be for Pre-orders for Vol. 9’s autographed copies.

Until then,

Ja ne!
